Dear Dr. Lem:

Unfortunately, I do not have access to the books that you refer to, but
from my point of view it seems interesting enough to pursue further.  If
you could send me copies, I would have someone read some of it to me and
send them back to you.

I agree with you opinion about American science fiction authors.  There is
very little genuine scientific speculation in science fiction today; most
simply copy an earlier writer's world of the future or exaggerate some
minor trend.  This is why I was interested in the possibility of your
contributing.

I admire your dedication in foregoing the trip.
